Common misconceptions and stereotypes about Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) will be challenged at the 亚色视频鈥檚 latest Beds Talk to be held at its Luton Campus on Thursday 13th June.

Led by academics from the University鈥檚 world leading research centre into CSE, the Beds Talk aims to provide a platform for discussions around the topic of child sexual exploitation.听

As Dr Helen Beckett, Director of the International Centre, said: 鈥淐hild sexual exploitation, like all forms of child sexual abuse, is too often viewed as too 鈥榯aboo鈥 a topic to discuss. However it is imperative to engage in open and honest conversations about this if we are to better protect children and young people from such harm.

鈥淚t is also critical to address the common myths and stereotypes that surround CSE if we are to truly understand both the nature of the abuse and how we need to respond to it. As an applied research centre, we are committed to creating spaces for these conversations and as such are delighted to be running this Beds Talk.鈥

As part of an ongoing series at the 亚色视频, the talk will be delivered through the University鈥檚 鈥楤eds Talks鈥 which focus on addressing and highlighting community-based issues.

The University鈥檚 award-winning research centre will bring common misconceptions and stereotypes about Child Sexual Exploitation to the surface and will open up a conversation about the different forms of CSE that takes place in the UK. It will focus strongly on ways to prevent and hopefully put an end to child sexual exploitation.
