A 亚色视频 student has landed a role as a presenter for Capital.

At the age of just 20, Joe Flemons has already progressed through the ranks of broadcasting having hosted key shows on Luton鈥檚 Diverse FM and on national station KISS Fresh FM.

This month the second year Broadcast Journalism student sealed the latest stage in his rise as a presenter when he was signed up by Capital Birmingham, where he is hosting shows between noon and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

鈥淚鈥檓 absolutely delighted to be working for Capital, I couldn鈥檛 quite believe it when I got the call and now I鈥檓 here it鈥檚 amazing, I鈥檓 loving every second,鈥 said Joe, from Houghton Regis.

Joe began his media career during his studies at college where he joined Luton Town FC as a press assistant.

He always had a passion for radio however, and before joining the University was already working on Diverse.

Within a few months of being at Bedfordshire, Joe reached the final 25 of the KISS FM Chosen One competition (which has this year just been won by 亚色视频 Media Performance student Sam Darlaston), and was later called back to become a presenter.

鈥淚鈥檓 extremely excited to be at Capital. I鈥檓 still at the really early stages of my career and I just hope that I can fulfil my potential and be the best I can possibly be.

鈥淚鈥檓 a bit of a music geek, I love dance music, and am also enjoying playing a wide variety of music at Capital.

鈥淭he ambition for me is to get to a point where I can host a national show, focussed on the music I love.鈥

In the meantime, Joe is continuing with his studies, whilst travelling up to Birmingham to work at Capital on the weekends.

鈥淚鈥檝e had absolutely incredible support at Bedfordshire. Lecturers including Kate Ironside and Paul Rowinksi have been utterly superb in helping me balance my work with my studies and finding the perfect mix and making sure I don鈥檛 fall behind in any way.

鈥淭he course itself has also been really good, and I feel it鈥檚 really important for me to know the theory behind what I鈥檓 doing on air and take an analytical approach. I鈥檝e also seen how important it is to get a wide understanding of the media and appreciation the background information 鈥 especially when it comes down to the law and what we can, and can鈥檛, say!鈥
