"There is no need to get stressed - a place at university is just a phone call away" is the message from the ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ's Admissions Team to A level students due to get their results next Thursday, 13 August.

The ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ will have a large team of specialist staff ready to take calls from students who may be considering their university options. The Clearing hotline number is 0300 3300 703 and it is open now.

The ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ also has a Live Chat team available to answer any questions or queries prospective students may have about the courses available, studying at the ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ and university life in general.

Susie King, Head of UK/EU Admissions at the ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ, had this advice for prospective new students looking at university choices:

"Just pick up the phone and call us, or chat with us online. We have an enthusiastic and professional team ready to answer any questions you may have about the University, the student experience at Bedfordshire, the courses available here and university life in general.

"We’ll guide you through the whole application process and academics will be on-hand to talk with you about their courses, their teaching and the academic support provided by the University.

"Also don’t forget those who haven’t already applied to UCAS can apply to us direct. Clearing is for them too, and we do get a high number of direct applicants this way."

The University will have courses available in a wide range of subject areas, from Art & Design, Biomedical Science and Business Studies to Computer Science, Law and Sport & Exercise Science. Details of all the courses available can be found at the University's dedicated Clearing website.

Prospective students will also have the opportunity to look around the University’s Luton, Bedford and Milton Keynes campuses, check out the student and teaching facilities, visit the student accommodation and have face-to-face meetings with the Admissions team, who will answer any queries students have about applying to the ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ.

The tours, which are led by student ambassadors, run every hour on the hour between 10am and 4pm from 13 August 2015 to 28 August 2015 and typically last about 30 – 45 minutes. Family and friends are welcome.

The ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ will also have a specialist team of Higher Education Advisors at a number of locations in the region over the next two months, starting at the Luton Mall from 10 August, offering interactive workshops in a range of academic disciplines as well as Clearing and course advice.

Susie encourages young people who may be unsure whether they should go to university to give the ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ a call, adding:

"Going to University is a life-enhancing experience. It can open up a whole host of doors that you never knew existed. Clearing is an ideal time to find out what going to University is all about. So use it to kick-start your higher education journey."
