Naomi Azevedo

Lecturer in English as an Additional Language

Naomi Azevedo

Being able to communicate effectively is one of the most important skills that any person can obtain, and I am passionate about helping non-native speakers achieve this level of language ability.

My interest in the English language and its idiosyncrasies has shaped my life to this point, with a period spent in Spain teaching EAL to students from 3-70 years old, followed by the formation of my own successful English tuition company, Essential English.

Having been the learner of a foreign language myself, I feel that this has enabled me to have a particular understanding of the difficulties encountered by learners, and a sense of how to overcome these. I particularly enjoy assisting my students to further their lives, academic progress and careers in the UK, and have written a book to this effect entitled ‘English you (actually) need’, due for publication this year.
