Malini Mistry

I started my career working as a primary school teacher and gained experience across all year groups .

Whilst working in the primary sector, I managed and led many areas of learning in the curriculum including ICT, History, Geography, RE and Early Years.

I was also an active Key Stage 2 coordinator in addition to my senior leadership role. I came to the ÑÇÉ«ÊÓƵ in 2005 where I became passionate about Early Years and Professional Studies for different year groups on the B.Ed (QTS) and Primary PGCE courses.

I have also led and managed units such as Child Development, Geography, Science, Religious Education, School Experience for Year 2 students on the B.Ed (QTS) course. On our current Primary BA (QTS) course I have led units such as Child Development and Dissertation as well as working part of a team on other units such as Meeting Needs of Children and SEND. In addition, I have worked as part of a team on the Primary PGCE course for units such as Research Informed Teaching and the Reflective Practitioner.

Current Role

  • Course coordinator for BA Applied Early Years (Top Up)
  • Lead units such as Early Years Research Project (Dissertation) and Early Learning Birth to Five on the BA Applied Early Years (Top Up) course
  • Lead the unit Child Development on Primary BA (QTS) course
  • Lead the unit High Quality Practice in Early Years on the EYTS and PGCE 3-7 courses
  • Placement visits for all courses

Qualifications

  • FHEA Fellow of the Higher Education Authority.
  • MBA in Educational Management - University of Leicester (First class Honours degree)
  • BEd with QTS - University of Northampton (2:2 degree, Major in Humanities)
