About the course

This full-time, 22-month MBA with data analytics and a specialism in hospital and health services management accelerates career growth by refining leadership and strategic management skills. Tailored for students with a passion for healthcare management, it equips you to navigate organisational change in a global context, applying data analysis to real-world projects. With six entry points through the year, the point at which you join the course determines the order of the units you study.

Strategy analysis and practice

Build skills that are highly valued by modern organisations including critical thinking, effective communication, adaptability and ethical decision-making.

Digital business analytics

Developing key employability skills, you evaluate and apply commonly used digital business analytics tools and techniques and digital analytical methodologies, including AI and machine learning.

Applied data analytics

This unit takes a practical approach to learning data-mining techniques, emphasising their importance in constructing effective solutions for business problems. It underscores the significance of data-driven decision-making in the modern world. The curriculum covers various techniques and tools for collecting, visualising, pre-processing and analysing data while applying data-mining models in real-world scenarios. You learn SAS Viya, a cloud-enabled analytics engine that provides a modern platform for advanced analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Knowledge discovery and management

A comprehensive exploration of how knowledge discovery and management may be utilised in contemporary business. You gain the knowledge and understanding you need to navigate the intersections between technology, data and informatics for effective organisational management.

MBA applied project

All students on taught MBAs participate in the applied project as the culmination of your course. It is designed to support your employability and transition into the professional work environment through the application of management education to management practice, integrating the best available scientific, organisational and experiential evidence.

How will you be assessed?


The MBA (Hospital and Health Services Management) with Data Analytics adopts a block teaching and guided learning approach using latest approaches including flipped classroom to support the practice-led curriculum for early career leaders and managers aspiring to develop as global citizens and with an emphasis on internationalisation and employability. Units are delivered in 6-week blocks with a focus on the impact of management education on your career through the application of research to management practice. This energetic and active approach to learning will enhance your confidence and self-esteem and support your development as an autonomous learner and innovative business practitioner.

Careers


On completing your MBA you will be well placed to fill a wide range of positions particularly within the health sector. Your team-working skills analytical abilities and understanding of management will be attractive to employers. You would be expected to enter into mid-level management careers in SMEs and larger organisations or start your own business. Your data analytics skills open the way to roles as an expert data analyst in the wider healthcare industry – such as insurance companies or medical organisations - or joining a data company with a healthcare portfolio.

If you wish at a later point in your career you may like to pursue a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA).
